These terms govern access to and use of Johnson County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its content, or using a search tool signifies acceptance of the conditions below. Do not continue to use the service if you disagree with them. Information found here or through a linked tool must not be used to harass, stalk, threaten, intimidate, or unlawfully discriminate. The restriction is especially important for the Iowa Sex Offender Registry. Iowa Code chapter 692A authorizes public safety access but does not permit vigilantism or abuse of a listed person or household. Misuse can expose the user to criminal or civil consequences.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Johnson County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and does not produce consumer reports, credit reports, or official background checks. Its content and linked tools may not be used to:

  • Make an employment decision
  • Evaluate a tenant or housing application
  • Set credit or insurance terms
  • Determine eligibility for a license, permit, or public benefit when regulated by law
  • Carry out any other FCRA-covered purpose
